Dear Lillybug,
You are ONE and so much FUN! Can you believe it... you have lived an entire year of life! It's crazy how fast it flew and how much you grew! You are the cutest little bug and I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing you are in our lives. We couldn't imagine life without you, your cuddles, your sweet voice, big smiles, lots of laughter, and gentle but spunky spirit. You are well on your way to toddlerhood and you've closed out this first year with many many milestones!

You still love to read! Now we read a book or a few pages of a book and you go get me another one to read. You love to point to the pictures and turn the pages!
In the dental department: You now have 10 teeth! You got your other bottom side tooth at about eleven and a half months. Then, you got two molars one on each side on the bottom. Your left one came in first and then your right one. You have been chewing, drooling, and gnawing a lot lately. They broke through right after you turned one.
Your favorite real word is mama. It is so cute when you say it.... mamamamama and of course I love it! Your favorite real word is da... or doy da da. I wish I knew what it meant. You say it when you point to the pictures in your books, when you see Mocha, or when you are just rambling away. I like to think you are referring to your favorite Spanish word: Dar (to give). When you say doy or da we conjugate dar together: doy, das, da, damos, dais, dan. I guess you are just such a giver. :)
Your schedule isn't much different. You wake at about 7:30am and you take two naps each day. One around 10am-12pm and the other about 2-4. Sometimes you skip your morning nap if you are at school, MOPS, or bible study. For a while they tried to get you to nap, but now they've given up. You just love to play and be in on all the action! On the days you skip your morning nap you normally take a solid three hour nap in the afternoon. :) You are still nursing about 4 times a day, but if you only get in 3 it's nothing to stress about. You go to bed about 7pm and get a good 12 hours before morning.
Silly lilly you are on the move! Definitely walking and cruising pretty fast too. When we chase you you giggle so loud and go so fast until you fall down. This was daddy and your game first... but after yall showed it to me I like to play too!
Now that the weather has cooled off you love to swing in your swing! Or I think you love it. I'll just say it's growing on you. Normally our outings in the swing consist of lots of laughter and then every now and then some quasi fussy sounds. We are just pushing through it ensure you aren't afraid of heights! :)
You love your stuffed animals and dolls. You give them lots of snuggles and kisses. You have such a sweet spirit lillybug.
You've recently started throwing some tantrums. Not horrible... and typically when you are distracted by something new it ends abruptly. They consist of some or all of the following: throwing your head backwards, crying, arching your back, flailing your arms, putting your finger in your mouth, and rarely but sometimes laying on the floor and rolling around. Sounds pleasant, right?! I'm learning not to take you too seriously because you literally can turn it on and off like a light switch.
I thought this shirt was pretty appropriate. We got in on our trip to Seaside. A melt down is really referring to a delicious grilled cheese restaurant out of an airstream on 30A. Yumm!!

I love dressing you in your cute fall clothes! Although most are size 12-18 months and swallow you. You are long and lean (see stats at the bottom of this post). I wonder if you will stay pretty tall? You are cute as a button with pretty light auburn hair and bright blue eyes. Your hair is actually getting pretty long. I can't wait to put you in pigtails cutie pie!
You are loving school and I'm loving it just as much! :) Every now and then we have a touch of separation anxiety which just creeped in this month, but all in all there are no tears, but lots of playing! Recently I chaperoned school pictures and got to stay for music class. It was so cute! Most of the kids are just walking around shaking musical instruments, some paying attention and some not. You kept standing right in front of the music teacher so she plopped you into her lap for the puppet show portion. Also... note that is not your woobie in your hand. Supposedly... you can be quite the lovey stealer at school. Your teachers say you like to have your lovey in one hand and then someone else's in the other. Hmm...
Lillian, you love music! You love to listen to Tia play the guitar. You clap and bounce along which make her feel like a rock star! Now when you see a guitar you are so intrigued. You want to touch it and love to dance to the music.
You never take a nap at school... except for this one day so I had to get a picture. You finally fell asleep 10 minutes before I picked you up. You've got your sleep sheep in one arm and your woobie in the other. Miss Wanda said you wouldn't sleep in your crib, so they tried the swing. Since then I don't think they try to put you down for a nap anymore. You fight it so hard! Normally when I pick you up you are having story time in Miss Valana's lap or swinging while the rest of the kiddos snooze. I honestly don't mind too much. While you are at school I'm out running errands like a mad woman, so when you get home with no nap you sleep for almost three hours and I can get chores done around the house.

You also love to fake laugh. Whenever, and I mean ANY time, you hear someone laugh you do your fake laugh... haha to join in on some comedic relief. It is so funny! You are already a comedian!
Barrett and you loved the pretzels. Yall are sooo funny!
You met your new buddy Wyatt this month! Courtney and I had so much fun catching up while you napped. Before they had to hit the road you woke up to meet this little man.
On your actual birthday Daddy and I went in to get you together. You were standing holding onto the crib rail, but when you saw us and the video camera you got shy all of a sudden and laid back down. You're sooo silly! You finally stood back up and were ready to par-tay!
Daddy continued Jpop's tradition of making breakfast pancakes. He added his own little touch by making them into the shape of the number 1. Daddy cut blueberries in half and added them to your pancakes because he knows you love them so much!

Happy 1 year big girl! We love you so much and are excited to see what fun memories year two brings! It's sad to think only 17 more before you leave home. It makes me want to treasure every single day with you, because they are literally numbered! You bring us so much joy pumpkin!
