So the first and most disappointing thing about Sitka, was that the movie "The Proposal" was not actually filmed there. It was filmed in Maine and Massachusetts... bummer. Nonetheless it was a quaint, cute little town. We didn't spend much time actually in the town, because this was our one port where we had two excursions booked. The harbor was really neat and I loved how all the boats looked with the fog hovering over the glassy water.
Jeremiah, Lilly and I went on a Sea Otter and Wildlife Quest that morning while Mom, Dad, Mel and Cace went Sea Kayaking. Then, we passed off Lilly. Mom and Dad kept an eye on her while she napped. Mel and Cace hit up a local pub and Jere and I went Sea Kayaking that afternoon. When Lilly woke Lulu and Jpop took her into town to see some pretty cool totem poles at the Sitka National Historical Park.
On the Sea Otter and Wildlife Quest we saw tons of Wildlife. It was amazing!!! We were on a boat that had a viewing deck where you could get some great pictures. We saw...

bald eagles
jellyfish
a puffin, which is supposedly very rare to see
tons of sea otters
playing
just lounging...
lots of birds
seals
On the Sea Kayaking trip the morning group got dressed in their kayak garb... saw a mama bear and her cub...
saw where a family lived remotely in the middle of nowhere, in a house on the water, with no electricity, in ALASKA...
practiced their paddling skills...
and met a native Sitkan, the kayak guide named Justin.
That afternoon it was our turn... we got dressed in our waterproof kayak garb...
and on the way to the kayaks we saw a humpback whale! We were so close to him that when he blew out his air-hole you could smell his breath... very pungent and fishy... imagine that!
I was hoping the sow and her cub would still be there, and they were! They were in a little bit of a different spot than the morning and were fishing. The grass was so tall so it was a little hard to get a good pic. It was raining so I had my camera in a trash bag to keep it as dry as possible, but I did get a couple good ones. It was so neat to see bears in their wild, natural habitat. We definitely kept our distance though! Even though we were in the water we weren't going to get between a mama and her cub!
While we kayaked JPop, Lulu, and Lilly went to Sitka National Historical Park and saw totem poles.

After our adventurous day in Sitka we boarded the ship and set sail for Juneau.
Enjoying our dinner at the fancy restaurant onboard. Lilly joined us for the beginning and then had a babysitter the rest of the evening. It was fun to all get together at the end of the day and share stories of our adventures!
