This Christmas was so fun! Lilly was so much more aware of all that was going on. There is just nothing like a child at Christmas. We started off the morning with everyone (jpop, lulu, tia, uncle queso, grandpa bruce, the binkies, aunt caroline, aunt sb, uncle matt) coming over for Christmas breakfast and to see what Santa brought Lilly. She was such a good girl this year!

After breakfast and Santa we all relaxed for a bit. L and Grandpa Bruce enjoyed cozying up and watching the boys fly the helicopter.

Daddy and Uncle Matt opened their gifts from Grandpa Bruce. They got the neatest gift, a Wild at Heart sword with a special letter. So manly! They were stoked!

L found her ornament on the tree that she made for Mommy and Daddy with Tia Mel and Uncle Queso.
She loves her ornament! Look at that stinker of a face she's making! She also loves her pink converses from The Tios and her tutu Mommy made her.
We relaxed, opened gifts, and enjoyed the day, but we underestimated the time needed to cook Christmas dinner. Hence we ate at about 10pm I think. Nonetheless it was delicious! I created a new menu with lots of recipes we had never had before, but of course with the tried and true favorites thrown in. I divvied up the recipes between me, my sis, and my mom. Everyone was a huge help and contributed to make this a beautiful and most importantly delicious Christmas dinner!
The first course was the most delicious salad ever! It was a fennel, arugula, citrus salad made by Tia. It was fun to plate the salads.
We had Kir Royales to celebrate. I think they are so festive at Christmas time. The perfect color!
One of my favorite things about hosting was using my china, crystal, and silver from when we got married. It inspired me to use it more often and not just for holidays!

Boy do I respect risotto chefs... I think I was sore and sweaty by the time this dish was finished. Yummy... but takes some effort!
For the main course we had spinach rockefeller, smoked turkey, dressing, cheese grits, rolls, homemade cranberry sauce, and triple s risotto.
To top it all off we had homemade pumpkin pie with a gingersnap crust made from scratch!
And don't you worry... we ate this fancy dinner all in our PJs! :)
