Pre-Christmas Festivities!

This Christmas was a bit different than normal. We stayed in Dallas and were able to celebrate with both sides of our families. It was also fun to host Christmas in our own home. I felt much busier than normal but it was fun to start new traditions for our little family as well.

The day before Christmas Eve we celebrated with The Marshalls. We had chili, cornbread, dessert, and did a gift exchange. Caroline came in town from California and Matthew was in town from UT so it was a blast to all be together! Everyone brought something to contribute to the food smorgasbord. It was all delicious and we had a ball all being together. After the gift exchange we watched Home Alone Lost in NY. :)

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated with the Wright family. Uncle Queso had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day :( so Lulu and Jpop came in town so we could all be together. A Christmas blessing arrived on Christmas Eve... Uncle Queso got a call and was told he would be on call for the day! YAY! So we adapted our plans a bit and did some Christmas festivities early since we knew he'd have to work on Christmas. So... that afternoon we did our Lulu and Jpop Christmas. Lilly was thrilled and much more into all the Christmas fun this year!

L with her gingerbread man in one hand and squishy balls in the other. This girl couldn't be happier!

Loving her ginger bread cookie with her new hair bows all in her hair.

L loves her bear chair. She climbs in it all the time!

L hit the jackpot! Mommy's favorite gift she got was her new big girl car seat. :) L's other favorites were her fuzzy bear and bear jack in the box. As you can see it was a "BEAR" themed Christmas. Sic 'em!

The boys favorite surprise were little helicopters. They loved flying them in the house. Thankfully we only had a few minor casualties.

At 4pm we went to the Christmas Eve service at our church. It was so special and fun to worship at our home church on Christmas Eve for the first time. After the church service we went home and had duck gumbo, red beans and rice, and french bread for dinner. Yummm

As you can tell we love us some Christmas pjs and spend most all Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in them! L is in her "official" Christmas pjs and ready for bed so Santa can come!

Before bed we read the Christmas story and Twas the Night Before Christmas by candle light. Then, Lilly left Santa a beautiful plate of Christmas cookies and milk!
