We made it to Florence. I loved Florence! It was the perfect amount of city and pretty easy to navigate. The architecture was amazing! It is hard to believe how old everything is. We spent two nights in Florence. The first night Jon, Sara, and Jackson stayed too and then they headed back to Vicenza for work and we stayed one extra night on our own.
The Duomo
On the Ponte Vecchio Bridge
Trying to make Lilly laugh and smile!
At dinner
Wine tasting at a really neat wine shop. Lilly wanted some... of course. She'd say "want some."
Strolling back to the hotel.
The second day we were on our own.
We toured the baptistery. The ceiling was beautiful!
Other views of the Duomo.
We climbed to the top of the Bell Tower... more than 400 steps.
We saw beautiful views of the city.
We saw the David... no pics though.
We did a really neat walking tour of the area across the Ponte Vecchio.
View of our hotel.
We rubbed the boar's nose and threw in coins for good luck in hopes that we will return to Florence one day.
And had dinner at a yummy restaurant.
Our last night there was a holiday and it was the craziest celebration I have ever seen. The streets were packed and there was music and crowds everywhere you looked. This is a view outside our hotel room window.
